Vin’s Rainbow

Throughout our respective lifetimes, things occasionally happen for which there is simply no logical explanation, no rhyme or reason. For those of us who are believers, we often refer to these instances as ‘divine intervention.’

Make no mistake about it, longtime Dodgers Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully was very much a believer.

As we all so painfully know, we lost the Bronx, NY native and 67-year voice of the Dodgers (that’s not a typo) on August 2, 2022; a day that ranks right up there among the worst in Dodgers history, if not the worst.

Lo and behold, early on Wednesday afternoon, November 29, 2023, at 1000 Vin Scully Ave, Los Angeles, California 90012, we were blessed, absolutely blessed, with a gift that can only be described as ‘divine intervention,’ sent to us from our beloved former Dodgers broadcaster on what would have been his 97th birthday:

There simply are no words.

Thank you, Vin. Just thank you.

UPDATE:

For those who have inquired, that incredible photograph was taken by Dodgers Social Media Coordinator Martin Ochoa. GREAT shot, Martin!

Thank you so much for sharing this.
More meaningful for me than anything else
    That you could have written.

Vin was the link back to Brooklyn and my father. As a soon to be 17 yr Pancreatic Cancer survivor I know a lot about divine
    Intervention.

Is there a way that we could copy this photo or buy it? That is absolutely gorgeous. Vin will always be missed.

See the above Update. Martin only asks that you please keep the Dodgers logo on it (and why wouldn’t you?).

  3. Vin gave us so much pleasure and enjoyment through his career. Only God can pay tribute to Vin this way!

    Beautiful & well said.
