Not Good

Shortly after noon on Saturday, Dodgers fans received news that they did not want to hear – not now, or ever:

As Dodgers manager Dave Roberts noted, his All-Star future Hall of Famer suffered the injury while trying to avoid being hit by a pitch during Friday night’s 6-5 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Dodger Stadium.

“He’s day to day,” Roberts told reporters during his pregame media scrum on Saturday afternoon.

Although Betts singled to center in the bottom of the fifth inning on Friday night, he was quickly erased on a 4-6-3 double play by Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman, one of four double plays the Dodgers hit into on the night. (SportsNet LA)
