Dodgers Sign Veteran Right-Hander to Minor League Deal

Per WEEI’s Rob Bradford, the Dodgers have signed 35-year-old recently-released (by the Boston Red Sox) right-hander Ryan Brasier to a minor league contract.

Bradford notes that the Wichita Falls, TX native, who was initially signed by the Angels of Anaheim in the sixth round of the 2007 MLB Draft out of Weatherford College, would “…give the Dodgers some experienced bullpen depth in the upper minors.”

Although there is no indication that the 6′-0″ / 227-pound hard-throwing right-hander will be added to the current (struggling) Dodgers bullpen, should the seven-year MLB veteran with a career record of 7-8 and career ERA of 4.45 find even moderate success at Triple-A OKC, it’s hard to believe that he would not soon be added to the Dodgers big league roster.

Stay tuned…
