‘And The Hits Just Keep On Coming!’ for Trea Turner

Four games into the Dodgers current nine-game road trip, 28-year-old Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner is 10-for-18 (.556) with one double, one home run, and three runs batted in. During this stretch, he saw his hitting streak end at 13 games; this only one game after his remarkable 26-game hitting streak ended.

With his fifth-inning solo home run on Friday afternoon, the Boynton Beach, FL native and first-round draft pick in 2014 out of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC by the San Diego Padres now has 10 on the season – to go along with his 16 doubles, two triples, and 52 RBI – giving him a remarkable slash-line of .318/.365/.500/.865.

Turner’s third hit of the game on Friday was this fifth-inning opposite field solo home run. He is already two games into his next hitting streak. (Video capture courtesy of SportsNet LA)

As DJs back in the sixties and seventies used to say (for those old enough to remember):

“And the hits just keep on coming!”

I miss the old days of listening to the hits on my little AM radio. And buying my favorite singles on 45 rpm records at the dime store for 39 cents.

Would be nice to resign Trea, but, I am not very optimistic about it. Especially with his agent being Boras.
