Dodgers Home Runs – Music To Our Ears

It doesn’t happen often – at least not often enough – but every now and then, I happen to hear the song ‘Sandstorm’ by Finnish DJ and record producer Darude on my favorite Sirius XM radio station.

If neither of these ring a bell for you, it is entirely understandable. But if you have ever been to a game at Dodger Stadium and the Boys in Blue happen to hit two home runs in the same inning, you absolutely positively have heard the song, masterfully spun by Dodger Stadium disc jockey DJ Severe.

Dodger fans are blessed to have the best PA announcer (Todd Leitz), the best in-stadium DJ (DJ Severe), and the best organist (Dieter Ruehle) in the business at Dodger Stadium.

Of course, before you get to hear ‘Sandstorm,’ you would have already heard ‘Kernkraft 400’ by German techno artist Zombie Nation in the inning, which Severe plays after every Dodgers home run (or the first home run of a multi-home run inning) at baseball’s third-oldest ballpark.

If the offseason – or the current MLB lockout – have you down, click on these links to hear ‘Kernkraft 400’ and ‘Sandstorm.’ If they don’t get your blood flowing, nothing will:

‘Kernkraft 400’ – played by DJ Severe after every Dodgers home run at Dodger Stadium.
‘Sandstorm’ – played by DJ Severe after the second Dodgers home run in an inning at Dodger Stadium.
