Dodgers Option Keibert Ruiz

The Dodgers have optioned catcher Keibert Ruiz to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The 22-year-old Valencia, Venezuela native appeared in five games for the Dodgers and was 1-for-6 (.167). That one hit was a solo home run on the first pitch of his first at-bat of 2021 on May 4 against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. He now has two career home runs in his combined 14 major league at-bats with the Dodgers.

Ruiz has been with the Dodgers since July 20, 2014, when he was signed as an international free agent. In 387 minor league games in the Dodgers organization, he is 430-for-1439 (.299), with 29 homers and 199 RBI.

    Well, for the long term it makes sense to send Ruiz to AAA. But in my totally unprofessional opinion Ruiz can hit and Ralley, Noise, Barns, Peters, and Lutz can’t and I’m not so sure about Rios. So if you want to win this year go out and get some guys who can hit.
