Belly’s Back!

Shortly before Friday’s noon (PT) deadline, it was reported on Twitter that the Dodgers and 25-year-old superstar outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger had avoided arbitration when the Scottsdale, AZ native agreed to a one-year/$16.1M contract.

Bellinger, who made $11.5M last season to set a new record for a player in his first year of arbitration eligibility, is represented by Scott Boras. As a ‘Super-Two’ player, Bellinger has two more years of arbitration eligibility before becoming a free agent after the 2023 season … unless, of course, the Dodgers sign him a Mookie Betts-like contract extension (count on it).
