Peters, the Dodgers fourth round selection in the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Western Nevada College, is currently tied for sixth with his 10 home runs in the highly competitive Cal League. The extremely polite 21-year-old Glendora, California native and lifelong Dodger fan expressed his gratitude for his 2017 Cal League All Star selection.

“Being recognized by my organization, other teams within the league and other organizations within the league is a huge honor and means a lot to me as a person and a player,” Peters told ThinkBlueLA. “I’m pumped to get out there and just have some fun with some of the best players within the California League. I am blessed and I give God all of the fame and glory.”

Peters is also tied for third in the Cal League in games played (60), is eighth in RBIs (35), seventh in total bases (102) and fourth in walks (34) And even though the 6′-6″ / 225-pound outfielder is currently hitting only .248, he boasts a .359 on-base percentage and .459 slugging percentage for an impressive .818 OPS.

As for the 6′-4″ / 225-pound Isabel, he is an absolute beast. Acquired as an international signee in April 2013, the now 21-year-old Yaguate, Dominican Republic native leads the Cal League with his 15 home runs, is tied for sixth in RBIs (40), and has a slash-line of .240 / .329 / .480 for an OPS of .809.

“This is a tremendous honor for both of them,” said Quakes manager Drew Saylor. “DJ has been a force in all phases of the game, but one of his attributes he has significantly enhanced is his leadership. The way he plays the game is the benchmark for his teammates and he does it every single day.

“Isabel has been a tremendous force in the line up. His ability to change the game with one swing is incredible,” Saylor added. “He has been working on putting together more complete at-bats and has shown some significant growth in that area. He is a hard worker in all phases of the game.”

The 2017 California League All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 5 pm PT at beautiful Rawhide Ballpark in Visalia, California. Tickets for the Cal League’s midsummer classic can be obtained through the Visalia Rawhide website.
