Dodgers to host Children’s Holiday Party tomorrow

The Dodgers and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will play host to more than 300 pre-selected schoolchildren from the community surrounding Dodger Stadium at their annual Children’s Holiday Party tomorrow, December 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Lot L and in the Stadium Club. Dodger outfielder Joc Pederson and Dodger alumni Al Ferrara, Kenny Landreaux and Dennis Powell will participate in Wednesday’s event.

Neighborhood schools partaking in the Children’s Holiday party are: Allesandro Elementary School, Ann Street Elementary School, Castelar Elementary School, Clifford Math and Technology Magnet Elementary School, Elysian Heights Elementary School, Logan Span Elementary School, New Village Girls Academy, Solano Avenue Elementary School, Toland Way Elementary School, Union Avenue Elementary School and Urban Compass, a non-profit organization that provides after-school programs to underserved youth.

“The Dodgers are thrilled to welcome children who live and learn near Dodger Stadium,” said Naomi Rodriguez, Dodger vice president of external affairs and community relations. “These children and their families are part of the Dodger family. It’s magical watching them play in the snow, talk to Santa and head home with toys and shoes. We are grateful to our partners for their generous support.”

Dodger alumni will join the youngsters in playing games and will serve lunch and distribute gifts. Special guest Santa Claus will be in attendance for photos and to distribute toys. Blue Prints will have a photo booth at the event for children to take home holiday-themed photos. The Dodgers’ and LADF’s Children’s Holiday Party will include snow elements courtesy of Arctic Glacier Ice, lunch will be provided to each child courtesy of Levy Restaurants and each child will receive a new pair of SKECHERS shoes. DJ Santana with iHeart Media will provide music for the event.

The Dodgers and LADF will distribute toys to each youngster at the conclusion of tomorrow’s event courtesy of Mattel, Inc. which has donated 600 toys and will also provide game activities during the event. Other partners include Gazillion Bubbles, Purefix Cycles and Rolling Deep 4 Charities. Both Purefix Cycles and Rolling Deep 4 Charities will donate bicycles to be raffled.
