Dodgers announce 2016 spring training schedule

The Dodgers have announced their 2016 Spring Training schedule, with their eighth season of Cactus League play beginning on Thursday, March 3 against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch.

The Dodgers will play 30 spring training games in 2016 with 17 of them being played at Camelback Ranch. Of these 17 games, 15 will be as the home team with the other two as the visiting team against their spring training partners the Chicago White Sox.

Camelback Ranch features a state-of-the-art ballpark, six practice fields on the Dodger side, including a replica Dodger Stadium field, fan photo elements commemorating Dodger history, walking trails, an orange grove and a five-acre lake.

Fans wishing to take in the most spring training home games in the shortest period of time – including four of their seven scheduled night games – can do so during the week of Friday, March 25 through Wednesday, March 30 when the Dodgers will be the home team for four of those five games: Friday night, March 25 against the Giants, Saturday night, March 26 against the White Sox, Sunday afternoon, March 27 against the Reds, Monday night, March 28 against the Rangers and Wednesday afternoon, March 30 against the Indians. The night games will have a 7:05 pm start time and the afternoon games a 1:05 pm start time. The game on Tuesday afternoon, March 29 will be against the Padres at the recently remolded Peoria Sports Complex in nearby Peoria, Arizona – a short 12 miles north of Camelback Ranch.

The ever-popular St. Patrick’s Day game will be on Thursday afternoon, March 17 at Camelback Ranch against the World Series Champion Royals at 1:05 pm.

The Dodgers will break camp after their March 30 game against the Indians for their annual three-game Freeway Series against the Angels on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 31, April 1 and April 2 with the first two games at Dodger Stadium and the final game in Anaheim. The Dodgers then kickoff the regular season on Monday, April 4 against the Padres at Petco Park, with their Home Opener set for Tuesday afternoon, April 12 against the Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.
