Two members of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes have been named to represent the team in the upcoming California-Carolina League All-Star Game. Noel Cuevas and Ryan Mount have been selected as California League All-Stars. That game will be played at the San Jose Municipal Stadium on Tuesday, June 18th.

Noel Cuevas, 21, is presently the Quakes center fielder. He is batting .306, with 5 home runs and 34 runs batted in while just coming off an eleven game hitting streak that was snapped on Friday in the Quakes loss to Visalia. Displaying good speed, he is tied for the league lead with 7 triples and has stolen 16 bases. Cuevas, a right handed hitter, is hitting .326 against right handed pitchers and .266 against left handed pitchers with four of his five home runs coming against right handed pitchers. After a slow start in April Cuevas has heated up in May and June catching the attention of fans and opponents alike. He is batting .340 with runners in scoring position and has a .404 OBP in those situations. Born in Manatí, Puerto Rico. Cuevas was drafted in the twenty-first round of the 2010 June Amateur Draft.

Ryan Mount is presently on the seven day DL with a right foot injury and will not play in the All-Star Game in order to give his foot more time to recover before the start of the second half. Hopefully he will be replaced by another Quakes player. Mount is leading the California League with a batting average of .342. The third baseman has 7 homers and has driven in 37 runs. His batting average of .440 and OBP of .491 with runners in scoring position demonstrates he is a strong clutch hitter. Mount was selected by the Los Angeles Angels out of Ayala High School (Chino Hills, CA) in the second round (58th overall) of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft. This is his first year in the Dodger farm system, having been signed by the Dodgers after he was released by the Angels on December 7, 2012. Mount, 26, brings a veteran presence to the young Quakes club.
