Just What the Dodgers Didn’t Need

ESPN LA and True Blue LA are reporting that Clayton Kershaw has been scratched from Sunday afternoon’s game against the NL West-leading Giants with a hip flexor injury.

If Kershaw is done for the season, it’s a pretty safe bet that so, too, are the Dodgers.

When questioned about the late scratch, Kershaw replied “Talk to Donny (Mattingly) first and I’ll elaborate on it later.”

According to a tweet by Dodgers beat reporter Ken Gurnick at 2:23 PM (PT), “Kershaw has a sore hip that received a cortisone injection Saturday. He might start Tuesday. Joe Blanton was told Saturday he might start.”

Any way you slice it, this is absolutely the last thing that the Dodgers needed and puts their playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.

Stay tuned…

Wouldn’t it be something if this is the opening act of a true Cinderella story for the Dodgers and they step it up and show the world that they have what it takes to be Champions.

    Then again…..

Tommy wrote in his book, “When one door closes, another opens.” Let’s open that door tonight. The game isn’t won on paper.
