Games On!

OK, it’s only spring training games and there are some players wearing the Dodgers uniform whose names will remain anonymous to Dodgers fans – but it’s baseball!

The Hot Stove season has been shelved for the next eight months and fans can focus on actual performances and outcomes rather than what-ifs. YES!!!

Spring training is all about getting players ready for the regular season, but it is also a time for prospects and wannabes to put their skills on display and impress coaches. For fans, an opportunity to glimpse the next generation playing alongside the stars of today.

2025 World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto was sharp in his 2026 debut and veteran position players Teoscar Hernández, Shohei Ohtani, Andy Pages, Will Smith, and Kyle Tucker put in their work before returning early to Camelback Ranch.

Check those boxes Dodgers fans.

In the first two Cactus League games, several young prospects demonstrated their talents and abilities. The team is absolutely loaded with high quality outfield talent, headlined by current number-one prospect, 20-year-old Josue De Paula. Although it is way too early to assess their Major League capabilities, outfielders Zach Ehrhard ( number 27 prospect), James Tibbs III (number eight), and Zyhir Hope (number two) are close to ready should the team need them during the upcoming season. Utility player Hyeseong Kim is the early favorite to start the season at second base, but infield prospects Alex Freeland (number four) and Noah Miller (number 25) only need to up their offensive games to push Kim playing time.

The Dodgers have a long history of developing dominant pitchers and the current prospects were on full display against the Angels and Padres: left-handers Jackson Ferris (number six), Luke Fox, and Adam Serwinowski (number 13) dominated during their outings.

For the first two 2026 Cactus League games – mission accomplished!

Dodgers third baseman Nick Senzel went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI in the Dodgers 5-2 win over the San Diego Padres at Peoria Stadium on Sunday. The Dodgers have scored 20 runs in their first 18 spring training innings played. (SportsNet LA)

Love to watch the young prospects. We have an entire outfield ready to go in 2 yrs? Some solid infielders and many pitchers

The way they are playing this spring, the Dodgers may have the best minor league system in baseball. The OF’ers have been terrific with infielders Miller and Hainline impressing as well. Will be fun watching the Dodgers minor league teams on tv this season.
