If there were any doubts about 24-year-old Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller being ready for the 2024 regular season, there certainly shouldn’t be now.

All the Elk Grove Village, IL native and Dodgers first round draft pick in 2020 out of the University of Louisville did in his final tune-up of the Spring in Game-1 of the annual three-game Freeway Series against the Angels of Anaheim on Sunday afternoon was allow no earned runs and only four hits in his 4.2 innings pitched. Along the way, Miller struck out five and walked one, en route to his team’s 5-3 win over the Halos in front of a Dodger Stadium crowd of 42,607. He made 80 total pitches, of which 51 were strikes.

“Yeah, the results were pretty good. Yeah, I think I’m taking the right steps right now to be where I need to be,” Miller told SportsNet LA’s Kirsten Watson after his stellar performance. “But yeah, you know, the strengths today, like the change-up wasn’t really too good early in the game, I picked it up a little later in the game.

“I threw a few too many pitches than I wanted to in the amount of time I was out there. You know, I like to be a little more efficient than that, but it was nice to get out of a couple jams with runners in scoring position with less than two outs,” Miller added.

Earlier in the day, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed his initial starting rotation for the 160 games remaining in the 2024 regular season, which begins on Thursday, March 28 with four games against the St. Louis Cardinals, followed by three games against the San Francisco Giants, all at Dodger Stadium:
