When yours truly posted on social media (Twitter) on Tuesday morning that 30-year-old right-hander Noah Syndergaard would be a Dodger before day’s end, it was not due to some type of vision or secret insider information or connection that I had. It was simply a hunch based entirely on common sense. That, and a pretty good understanding of how 46-year-old Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman, who has a reputation and track record as being the best in the business, operates.

It was also done entirely in fun.

Sure enough, shortly after 6:00 PM PT on Wednesday evening, ESPN’s Jeff Passan posted this on Twitter:

Again, common sense, not clairvoyance.

A short while later, Syndergaard himself reposted this on Twitter:

Although there has been no official confirmation from the Dodgers on the deal yet, numerous sources are reporting that it is a one-year/$13M deal that includes (up to) an additional $1.5M in performance bonuses.

Syndergaard will join a Dodgers starting rotation that will most likely consist of future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urías, Tony Gonsolin, and Dustin May, although this most certainly is subject to change.

Not a bad starting rotation, wouldn’t you say?
