We all have them – great Dodgers memories that usually begin with: “Remember that time…”

On Tuesday afternoon in Game-1 of a rare midweek day/night doubleheader at Dodger Stadium, the National League West Division Champion Los Angeles Dodgers created another “Remember that time…” memory when they pulled off yet another remarkable come-from-behind win over their NL West fourth-place Division rival Arizona Diamondbacks.

They did so with a five-run eighth inning to overcome a 5-1 deficit for an improbable 6-5 win. It was their fifth straight win and ninth in their last 10 games. It also gave them an MLB-best 104-44 record and an MLB-best .701 winning percentage.

“That’s the identity of our team. We’re not going to give up or quit on games,” said Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes, who collected his eighth home run of the season with a two-run blast into the Left Field Pavilion with Dodgers left fielder Miguel Vargas on first base, having led off the inning with a single to center. “It’s easy when you have a big lead like this to take it easy and take the foot off the pedal a little. But it’s a good sign that we keep going.”

“Barnesy’s been great,” said Dodgers unofficial team captain Justin Turner postgame. “He takes good at-bats all the time. Hadn’t really gotten great results all season long, but down the stretch, look at the last two months — the quality ABs he’s put together, some big swings, big knocks, and he does a hell of a job behind the plate with our pitching staff.

“Great job by Barnesy today getting us through that, getting [Michael] Grove and Ryan Pep[iot] through eight innings and keeping us in the game and giving us a chance to come back there,” added Turner.

“It’s tiiiiime for Dodger Baseball.”
