Dodgers Hoping To Catch Lightning In A Bottle … Again

It’s as simple as this:

Not so simple, is it? Especially when that ‘2021 NLCS Braves Win’ was a 9-2 pounding of the Dodgers, who managed only four hits – all singles.

The Dodgers managed only four singles in Wednesday’s embarrassing 9-2 loss to the Braves, with both of their runs coming on this one by AJ Pollock in the bottom of the fifth inning.

With the loss, and as noted above, the 2021 NLCS now sits at three games to one in favor of Atlanta.

“Our backs are against the wall, and no one’s going to feel sorry for us,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters postgame. “We gotta find a way to stress them, get guys on base, and push them across. That’s the bottom line.”

Roberts now has 27 outs to continue his team’s 2021 season … or end it.

The issue, of course, is that although Game-5 will be played on Thursday night at Dodger Stadium, following a Friday off day, his team must (hopefully) travel to Atlanta and sweep the Braves at Truist Field under the ever-annoying Tomahawk Chop.

Doable?

Absolutely.

Probable?

I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Play Ball!

  1. Stevebendodger says:

    One Game at a Time.
Get me back to Atlanta with a rested Scherzer and Buehler and I give us a 60% chance to take the series.

  2. The Dodgers are back in the ICU section again on to their 2021 lives.
Here’s hoping they can can continue to survive.
