According to CBS, 102 million television viewers tuned in to Super Bowl LV (55) on Sunday night between the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. And though it may have come as a surprise to some (a few) that the 43-year-old Brady not only won his record-setting seventh Super Bowl rather handily by a score of 31-9, it most certainly did not for anyone who knows anything about the San Mateo, CA native and sixth-round draft pick (199th overall) in 2000 by the New England Patriots out of the University of Michigan.
But for baseball fans, Brady’s dominating win over the Chiefs was, hands down, the biggest sporting event of the year … not because it was the Super Bowl, but because it marks the official kickoff (no pun intended) of the 2021 Major League Baseball Season – and how can you NOT love that!
