As was first reported on December 23, 2020, the Dodgers have now officially confirmed the signing of right-handed pitcher Tommy Kahnle (pronounced Cain-Lee) to a two-year deal through the 2022 season.
Kahnle, 31, joins the Dodgers after spending the last four years with the New York Yankees. In four seasons with the Yankees, he went 6-3 with a 4.01 ERA (50 ER/112.1 IP) and 157 strikeouts in 129 games, including a 3-2 record with a 3.67 ERA (25 ER/61.1 IP) in career-high 72 games in 2019.
The New York native made one appearance in 2020, tossing one scoreless inning with three strikeouts before undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery in August. Prior to joining the Yankees in 2017, he spent two seasons with the Colorado Rockies (2014-15) and two seasons with the Chicago White Sox (2016-17) and is a combined 9-9 with a 3.82 ERA (118 ER/277.2 IP) in seven Major League seasons.
Kahnle was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Lynn University.
