Noticeably missing from the Dodgers 30-man Opening Day roster is 22-year-old right-hander Dustin May and 25-year-old infielder Zach McKinstry, who Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Wednesday “is an injury away from being a Dodger.”

And what of Gavin Lux… I thought he was a lock at 2nd base? Admittedly, I’ve not been paying that close attention to the “summer camp” and am surprised he’s missing from the roster.

And, assuming the Dodgers do win this years’ championship, whatever that may be, will it be bittersweet? I gotta say, I hate asterisks in the record book and won’t feel vindicated until the Dodgers win a full season World Series championship. With Mookie on board for the foreseeable future and given the depth of this team, it may not be that far down the road for the franchise. But this year is more about salvaging a partial season for the league. Without a doubt, they’re going to lose a ton of money this year.

I’d rather have McKinstry over Gore
