Dodgers Broadcasters – The Best of the Best

It’s no secret, Dodger fans are a spoiled lot. Not only are we blessed to have the best team in all of baseball, but we are also blessed to have the best team of radio and television broadcasters and analysts to tell us about them.

On Tuesday, several Dodgers on-air personalities were presented with beautiful microphone trophies at the Southern California Sports Broadcasters awards ceremony held at Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank.

Among the recipients were:

  • Orel Hershiser – TV Game/Studio Analyst, SportsNet LA
  • John Hartung – TV Pre/Post Host, SportsNet LA
  • Jaime Jarrín – Spanish Radio Play-by-Play, 1020 KTNQ
  • Rick Monday – Radio Analyst, AM 570
  • Alanna Rizzo – TV reporter, SportsNet LA
  • Jill Painter Lopez – TV reporter, Fox Sports West
  • David Vassegh – Radio Host/Reporter, AM 570
Southern California sports fans are blessed to have two of the best female sports reporters in the business in SportsNet LA’s Alanna Rizzo and Fox Sports West’s Jill Painter Lopez, They are also among the nicest people you will ever meet.

Interestingly, there were a couple of Dodgers radio and television personalities who did not make this prestigious list, most noticeably SportsNet LA’s Joe Davis and part-time (should be full-time) AM 570 color analyst Kevin Kennedy. Then again, there was another Dodgers broadcaster who rightfully did not make the list.

Every now and then we are fortunate to have the best interview the best.

  1. Congrats to all, they do a great job.

  2. Uncle Ned says:

Joe Davis is solid, but Orel drives me nuts; Nomar is better, but he’d be lost without his “stayed on the ball” line every AB. I know people love to hate on Charlie Steiner, but despite his miscalls [ part of his charm ], he’s entertaining. I watched a spring game last year where he was paired with Ned Colletti which was a joy [ ducks].

Obviously Keith, Ron and Gary in NY are the elite, and Kruk and Kuiper in SF are first rate. The Pads crew is decent. The rest? Fuhgeddabouddit !
