The Dodgers will once again play host to 400 pre-selected active duty service members and veterans from the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard and their families for batting practice and lunch at Dodger Stadium on Monday, November 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in honor of Veterans Day.
Dodger third baseman Justin Turner, whose foundation supports veterans housing and military programming, will join Dodgers alumni Ron Cey, Steve Yeager, Billy Ashley and Dennis Powell at Monday’s event, where service members will have the opportunity to take batting practice on the field as well as enjoy a behind-the-scenes Dodger Stadium tour.
Service members will receive family photos courtesy of Blue Prints, a Dodgers/Veterans Day t-shirt, and lunch in the Lexus Dugout Club, where the 2018 National League Championship trophy will be on display for photos.
Veterans Day Batting Practice schedule of events:
- 10:30 a.m. Check-in
- 11:00 a.m. Welcome and introductions
- 11:25 a.m. National anthem
- 11:30 a.m. Batting practice, program begins
- 3:00 p.m. Program concludes
Each year the Dodgers honor military personnel with initiatives, including an on-field recognition of a Military Hero of the Game at every home game and an annual Military Appreciation Night.
