Dodgers announce 2019 preliminary schedule

The Dodgers released their preliminary 2019 regular season schedule on Wednesday morning, with the season opener scheduled for Thursday, March 28, against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.

The marquee match-ups include home games against the Giants, Angels, Cubs and Yankees, with the team playing at home for nearly every summer holiday next season.

The Dodgers will welcome the Yankees to Dodger Stadium for the first time since 2013 during a three-game weekend series Aug. 23-25, and also take on the rest of the American League East, as well as the Angels during the annual Freeway Series.

Interleague play match-ups include the Dodgers hosting the Angels (July 23-24), Blue Jays (August 20-22) and Rays (Sept. 17-18), and will travel to Tampa Bay (May 21-22), Anaheim (June 10-11), Boston (July 12-14) and Baltimore (Sept. 10-12).

Dodger Stadium will once again be the place to be during the summer holidays, with home games on Mother’s Day (May 12 vs. Nationals), Memorial Day (May 27 vs. Mets), Father’s Day (June 16 vs. Cubs), Independence Day (July 4 vs. Padres) and Labor Day (Sept. 2 vs. Rockies). The Dodgers will also join Major League Baseball in celebrating Jackie Robinson Day on April 15, when they host the Cincinnati Reds.

The Dodgers’ Opening Day match-up against the Dbacks will be the fourth season opener between the clubs at Dodger Stadium and the first since 2014. The Dodgers are unbeaten in their three previous Opening Day match-ups against Arizona, with the Dodgers defeating the Dbacks in 1999 at Dodger Stadium, in 2003 at Chase Field (then called Bank One Ballpark), and in 2014 in Sydney, Australia.

With a home slate filled with rivalries, holidays and promotions (to be announced at a later date), Dodger fans are encouraged to visit Dodgers.com/SeasonTickets for information on 2019 Season Tickets, which will go on sale August 27 and include 2018 Postseason rights.
