Contest: Who will hit the first Dodgers home run?

Who do you think will hit the first Dodgers home run of the 2016 season?

If you pick the correct Dodgers player (and can actually attend a game) you will win two front row seats in the Left Field Pavilion (including free general parking) to a future Dodgers game.

Contest rules:

  • Enter the name of the Dodger player that you think will hit the first 2016 regular season home run in the comments section below.
  • You can enter only once and can submit only one Dodger players’ name.
  • If no Dodger player hits a home run on Opening Day, the contest will roll over to the next day (and so on) until the first Dodgers home run is hit – away or at home.
  • In the event on multiple entries for the same Dodger player, the names of those contestants who picked the correct Dodger player will have their names placed into a hat (a coffee can, actually) and a random drawing will determine the winner.
  • The winner’s name will be posted below and on Twitter (for those with a Twitter account).
  • The winner will be required to provide their email address to: ron@thinkbluela.com
  • The date of the game will be determined by ThinkBlueLA with ample advanced notice given.
  • The electronic tickets will be emailed to the winner at the provided email address. The tickets can then be printed at home or can be scanned directly from your smartphone at the Left Field entrance to Dodger Stadium (and at any parking lot entrance gate for the parking pass).
  • If you are geographically unable to attend, please indicate so with your pick so that someone who actually can attend will win the tickets. Should this happen, we will give you a shout out on the site.
  • NOTE: No entries will be accepted after the first pitch of Monday’s season opener on April 4, 2016 in San Diego.
  • Disclaimer: This contest is entirely for fun and not for profit or any other reason. As such, any complaints, disputes or negative comments will be completely ignored.

Good Luck!

I think Puig’s going to do it.

(PS I’m a little geographically challenged but still trying to get out to DS this year!).

    • Ron Cervenka says:

If you win and you provide me with an idea when you’ll be out here, we could make that work for you.

      Good Luck!

  14. CruzinBlue says:

This is what happens when one shows up late to the party: you dig deep and make a bold prediction!

    Trayce Thompson

It was either him or Scott Van Slyke! I’m going with Thompson…

  15. Bluenose Dodger says:

With six lefties likely in the starting lineup today including Clayton, SVS will pinch hit an hit a home run.

I am geographically unable to attend.

  16. ebbetsfld says:

Geographically challenged, but just for fun – Clayton Kershaw!

  17. SoCalBum says:

Not possible for me to attend a game, but after Carl Crawford hits a leadoff home run in today’s game my tickets go to my sister-in-law who lives in SoCal and is a great fan of the Dodgers.

  18. edward says:

    Adrian Gonzalez

  19. Katie says:

Kiké Hernandez is gonna step it up and show us why he deserves to have his own jersey sold in the Dodger Store (which is currently is not). Rally Banana all the way!

  20. Ron Cervenka says:

    Contest closed.

  21. Respect the Rivalry says:

    Kenta Maeda!
OK, I know it’s closed already. I’m geographically challenged anyway. Just wanted to throw that in.

  22. Ron Cervenka says:

Pretty sure nobody saw that one coming.

  23. jerryr88 says:

    kenta maeda lol

i dont think anyone would have guessed that.

    gotta have another contest now

  24. Ron Cervenka says:

Because no one could have possibly predicted that Kenta Maeda would hit the first Dodgers home run, congrats to Gail Johnson for correcting picking Yasiel Puig to hit the first home run by a position player.

    • Respect the Rivalry says:

      Excuse me!!
Please check the next post after you closed the contest.
I know it didn’t count, but I did predict it.
I gave up predicting baseball ’cause of a Japanese pitcher (Hideo Nomo).
      I guess it’s fitting.
