    Condolences to all Dodger fans. We were blessed to have him in our living rooms for decades. Very grateful to his family for allowing us that pleasure and giving us his time for so many years.

    Ron, I know you knew him personally and this hurts. My deepest sympathies…

    If they don’t do it already.
    Before every home game should begin with Vinny saying it’s time for Dodger baseball

    I may be the only one not grieving the loss of the great Vin Scully.
    I grieved that loss on 9/25/16 as I celebrated the walk off home run I also mourned the fact that I would never again look over and see him in the booth.
    I grieved that loss on 10/2/16 as I watched the broadcast of the Dodgers losing to his favorite team I also mourned the fact that I would never again enjoy his anecdotes, golden tones, and visual depictions of the events as they unfolded upon the field.
    I grieved that loss even as I myself spoke those hallowed words “It’s Time for Dodger Baseball” unworthy, but eternally grateful.
    Though Vin attributed Shakespeare’s words to Jim Murray. I think them equally, if not more appropriate to Vin himself;
    Shakespeare wrote, “His life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in him that nature might stand up and say to all the world, This was a man”.
    Today, I don’t grieve his passing. I celebrate his life. I say a prayer for his soul.
    I imagine that although his first stop may be Sandy or Joan, I’m sure that he’ll have Michael high on the list while making time for old friends like Jackie, Don and Tommy.
    I Imagine that he’ll find time to thank Mr O’malley and Mr barber for the opportunity and he’ll visit with all the Boys of Summer regardless of the uniforms they wore.
    I imagine that he’ll holler out “Murph, it’s Kell! what time do we tee off?”

    The simultaneous worst and best part of Vinny’s passing? All the stories about him as a man. A kind, gentle, honorable, helpful-to-everyone man. He is certainly a Hall of Fame broadcaster but apparently also a hall of fame person.

    We need more people like he was, many more.

    Rest easy, Vinny. You touched SO MANY people in such positive way and for so very long. I hope you and Sandi are together again in Paradise.
