Urías Placed On IL

The Dodgers have placed left-handed pitcher Julio Urías on the injured list with a left calf contusion and have recalled infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Urías, 25, made the start on Friday night, tossing 5.0 innings of scoreless baseball. The lefty is tied for the Major League lead in wins with 13 and is 13-3 with a 3.29 ERA (51 ER/139.2 IP) and 149 strikeouts in 24 starts this season. In parts of six seasons with the Dodgers, he is combined 25-10 with a 3.23 ERA (136 ER/378.2 IP) and 381 strikeouts. He was originally signed by the Dodgers on August 17, 2012, as an international free agent out of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico.

McKinstry, 26, returns for his second stint with the team after appearing in 58 games for the Dodgers this season. On the season, he is batting .217 with seven homers and 29 RBI. He has appeared in 10 games for Triple-Oklahoma City, batting .212 with one homer and three RBI. In six minor league seasons in the Dodgers organization, he has hit a combined .268 (338-for-1259) with 31 homers and 152 RBI across five different levels. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 33rd round of Central Michigan University in the 2016 First-Year Player Draft.
