Dodgers outfielder AJ Pollock told reporters during Friday’s Zoom press conference that he and his wife Kate had tested positive for COVID-19 a month ago, which was the reason for his delay in reporting to summer camp.
“It was pretty crazy,” Pollock said of his early symptoms. “So I was in Arizona, my air conditioning broke, and I didn’t get to sleep at all that night. The two hours of sleep, I had a little bit of a headache and body aches.”
At that time, Pollock and his wife also welcomed a daughter at just 24 weeks. Because of the delicate situation that they were in, both were required to take a coronavirus test. That’s when things got real serious.
“I didn’t know if I had it but probably had a couple more days of symptoms,” Pollock said. “Headaches, body aches, a little bit of congestion, taste and smell, lost those. It was frightening. Kate did get it; I don’t know how. I did my best being upstairs, and she downstairs.”
Pollock went through a 14-day quarantine period, during which he couldn’t even visit Madi Mae, while his wife spent 10 days in quarantine.
“That was tough,” he said. “That was really hard, especially on [Kate]. When you got a new mom and they tell you you can’t see your baby, it’s not great.”

Good article.
It’s no secret that Pollock (and his 4-year/$55 Million contract) has been less that good thus far as a Dodger. But no one, absolutely NO ONE should ever have to go through what he, Kate, and little Maddi Mae have had to go through.
I will now look at A.J. in an entirely different light from now on and wish he and his family well.
It’s good to hear that AJ and family are healthy and wish them well with their new family addition. Hopefully little Maddie gets to come home soon.
