Popular Dodgers utility infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor and his wife Mary are set to host their second annual Polar Plunge event on Sunday, February 2 at 10 a.m. at the Manhattan Beach Pier.
Given the severity of the recent L.A. wildfires, the Taylors and their CT3 Foundation have decided to contribute a significant percentage of proceeds to local firefighters. Manhattan Beach firefighters will also be honored at the event.
The Taylors also launched an online donation matching campaign that has already raised over $50,000 for the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. The campaign runs through February 2, the date of the Polar Plunge, and can be reached through Chris’ Instagram account, @ctaylor_3.
CT3, his wife, and fellow teammates, coaches and Dodger legends are inviting Dodger fans to join in the second annual Polar Plunge, with celebrity host Joel McHale and entertainment at the VIP brunch provided by Brett Young. The event will also benefit Friendship Foundation, a deeply admired local charity dedicated to helping individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities, and the CT3 Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with cancer, individuals with disabilities, and underserved communities in Los Angeles and Virginia Beach, VA.
The CT3 Foundation is excited to have Skechers as the Title Sponsor for the event, which will benefit the Friendship Foundation. Besides the Dodgers, The Ryan Law Group, Strand Equity, OneRoot Foundation, Lazy Acres, Dive N Surf, Kaminsky Real Estate Group, AON, FIJI Water, STARLUX Airlines, UCLA Health, Akioni Catering, Gorjana, Lexus, Fresh Brothers Pizza, Pressed Juices, Life Coder, and the Shade Hotel will all sponsor the event.
“In a time when so many in our community are facing unprecedented challenges, it’s more important than ever to come together and lend a hand,” CT3 said. “As residents of the South Bay and as Angelenos, Mary and I believe it’s more essential than ever to host the Polar Plunge. This year, the event not only benefits the Friendship Foundation, a cause close to our hearts, but also honors Los Angeles firefighters, who have put their own lives at risk to help save our community. We hope this event will be a meaningful day for the community – a chance for many to gather and give back to those who help keep us safe.”
Polar Plunge registrations can be purchased at https://www.ct3foundation.org/. General admission registration costs $200 for adults, $50 for students, and $1,000+ for VIPs and Sponsors (which includes VIP party passes at the Shade Hotel, Manhattan Beach). Firefighters will be invited to participate free of charge. Sponsor and VIP inquiries can contact bill@cadence158.com for more information.
