More Dodgers Hardware

On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that managers and coaches from all 30 MLB teams had selected 30-year-old Dodgers international superstar and future Hall of Famer Shohei Ohtani, 32-year-old fellow future Hall of Famer Mookie Betts, and 32-year-old extremely popular Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández to be awarded Silver Slugger Awards for the 2024 season, becoming the first trio of Dodgers to win the prestigious award in the same season in franchise history.

Although Shohei and Mookie were so-call ‘no-brainers’ (I hate that term) to win, Teo’s selection came as a bit of a surprise … well, except for Dodgers fans that is.

During the 2024 regular season, which ended with the Dodgers winning their eighth World Series title since moving to Los Angeles in 1955, Ohtani slashed an impressive .310/.290/.646/1.036, with 54 home runs and 130 RBIs, and Betts an equally impressive .289/.372/.491/.863, with 19 home runs and 75 RBIs. And even though Teo only slashed .272/.339/.501/.840, he slugged 33 home runs while driving in 99 and won the 2024 Home Run Derby prior to the 2024 All-Star Game, which he was selected to for the second time in his nine-year MLB career.
