It was being reported on Monday that Dodger Stadium, MLB’s third oldest ballpark (1962) behind only Boston’s Fenway Park (1912) and Chicago’s Wrigley Field (1914), was undergoing major renovations.
Although exact cost of the project has not – and likely will not – be made public by the Dodgers, USA Today‘s Bob Nightengale reported last month that the renovations would cost an estimated $100 million.
“Having top-notch equipment for top-notch talent, maybe it just makes them a little bit better and have that edge,” KTLA Sports anchor David Pingalore reported on Monday.
What the Dodgers did say is that renovations would be completed in time for their 2025 regular season home opener against the visiting Detroit Tigers on March 27.
Although fans will probably pay a bit more to park, enter, and enjoy a Dodger Dog at newly renovated Dodger Stadium next season, another World Series trophy and parade would definitely be worth it.
