By now, every Dodger fan is well aware that their beloved team is sending six players to the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, which will be held on Tuesday, July 16, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX. It is the highest number of representatives of all 30 MLB teams, topping the Cleveland Guardians’ five and Kansas City Royals’ four. The 2024 Dodgers All-Stars are:
- Designated Hitter Shohei Ohtani
- First Baseman Freddie Freeman
- Catcher Will Smith
- Shortstop Mookie Betts
- Outfielder Teoscar Hernández
- Pitcher Tyler Glasnow
Obviously, Betts will not play, as he is still recovering from a broken left hand he suffered when he was hit with a 98 mph fastball by Royals right-hander Dan Altavilla on June 16, but he will be there.
“That’s pretty special. I mean, you got over 20 percent of your team going to an All-Star Game. That means we got a pretty good team,” now eight-time All-Star Freeman said, following Sunday’s 9-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers at Dodger Stadium; a game in which the future Hall of Famer went 1-for-3, with a walk and his fourth stolen base of the season.
“…a pretty good team,” indeed.
Play Ball!
