Whenever the Dodgers play the Giants, whether at Dodger Stadium or at Oracle Park, you can count on one thing – it will not be uneventful between two of baseball’s oldest and fiercest rivals. There is no greater example of this than Saturday’s thrilling 14-7 Dodgers win over ‘The Hated Ones.’ And though a final score of 14-7 may not sound like much of a thriller, it absolutely positively was, and it was classic Dodgers vs. Giants.
Although much has already been and will continue to be written about Saturday’s melee in front of a raucous Oracle Park crowd of 39,663, including a good many wearing Dodger Blue, it will painfully be remembered by Giants fans as ‘The game where the Giants came 90 feet away from walking off the Dodgers for a second day in a row.’
In turn, it will gloriously be remembered by Dodgers fans as ‘The game where the Dodgers took a 7-7 tie into the top of the 11th inning and scored SEVEN runs,’ including a two-run double by Dodgers catcher Will Smith and a two-run triple by Dodgers right fielder Jason Heyward. It will also be remembered as the game in which international superstar Shohei Ohtani slugged his team-leading and National League-leading 26th home run of the season, a 412-foot solo shot to center field in the top of the third inning to give the Dodgers a then 2-1 lead.

But hidden beneath all of the noise and excitement on Saturday was the 3-for-5 performance (all singles) by 35-year-old Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas, who drove in the first and the last of those 14 Dodgers runs.

And if all this wasn’t enough excitement for your Saturday, there’s this:

As you might expect, during that top of the 11th pounding, Giants fans were seen heading for the exits in droves … taking their obnoxious ‘Beat LA’ chant with them.
