Dodgers Farmhand Has ‘Historic Cheese’

Remember his name, Dodgers fans – it’s Reynaldo Yean. He is a 20-year-old right-handed relief pitcher from Sabana Grande de Boya in the Dominican Republic who signed a Minor League free agent contract with the Dodgers on July 5, 2021.

Why so, you ask?

I’ll give you 104 reasons, as in a 104-mph fastball.

On Wednesday afternoon, the 6′-4″ extremely hard-throwing right-hander hit 104 with his fastball in the Dodgers Single-A affiliate Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 5-2 win over the Angels Single-A affiliate Inland Empire 66ers at LoanMart Field, home of the Quakes.

Check out the call by veteran broadcaster Mike Lindskog, who is in his 15th season as the voice of the Quakes:

Yean’s 104-mph fastball was legit.

And then there’s this from Dodgers Minor League Pitching Coordinator Rob Hill:

Although only 20 years old and currently at the Low Single-A level, my money is on Yean with his 104-mph fastball making his MLB debut with the Dodgers sooner rather than later.

You heard it here first.

Play Ball!
