A Generational Player

Just as Babe Ruth was for our fathers and grandfathers, and Ted Williams, Sandy Koufax, and Don Drysdale were for us ‘veterans’ (old) fans, we are blessed to be witnessing yet another generational player before our very eyes and ears.

There is zero doubt, none whatsoever, that 29-year-old Dodgers designated hitter (and occasional pitcher) Shohei Ohtani will one day join these and many other baseball immortals in the sacred Halls of Cooperstown.

But until that day comes, please, please do not miss out on watching (or listening to) our generation’s generational player – regardless of who your favorite team is.

Another sold out Dodger Stadium crowd, a good many of whom came to witness ‘Babe’ Ohtani in action. He did not disappoint them. (LA Dodgers)
Ohtani homered twice on Sunday afternoon. His second traveling a ridiculous 464 feet to very deep left center field, en route to the Dodgers a 5-1 win (and series sweep) over the Atlanta Braves. It was Ohtani’s team-leading 10th home run of the season. (SportsNet LA)

I am sure that you have (hopefully) noticed that wherever the international superstar goes, and regardless of who the opponent is, the respective stadiums are always – or almost always – sold out, and understandably so. Fans come from far and wide to witness our generation’s Babe Ruth with their very eyes.

…and he rarely disappoints them.

Play Ball!
