We have long been told that there are only two sure things in life – death and taxes.
Make that three.
“It seems like every time you look up, he’s on base,” former Dodger great and current Dodgers broadcast Rick Monday said, after future Hall of Famer Mookie Betts singled to right on the second pitch of Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
Of course, if getting on base is indeed a sure thing for the 31-year-old Nashville, TN native and fifth-round draft pick in 2011 by the Boston Red Sox out of Overton High School in Nashville, it should come as a surprise to no one that he leads all of baseball with his 19 runs scored.
After his now 15 games played and 71 plate appearances, both tops in the MLB, Betts is slashing an outstanding .364 / .507 (tops in MLB) / .727 / 1.234 (tops in the NL).
Although the Dodgers eventually lost the game by a score of 3-2, you can bet that opposing pitchers always dread when Mookie steps into the batter’s box.
Yet another sure thing.
Play Ball!

One more sure thing: Mookie is the Dodgers leader!!
Let’s hope Mookie stays healthy and continues his great start to this season.
Absolutely! He is also the most personable player in the MLB.
Although he is coming off a difficult road trip, he WILL bounce back fast.
