Fact: Baseball was never intended to be watched at 3 a.m., unless, of course, it is to continue watching an extra inning game that began during normal baseball-watching hours.

Fact: South Korea’s Kiwoom Heroes were no match for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who bested them by a score of 5-2 at the beautiful Gocheok Sky Dome in South Korea very early on Monday morning.

And even though a score of 5-2 isn’t what you would call a blowout, the game never seemed that close. Here’s the line score:

As noted, although the Gocheok Sky Dome is 5,956.34 miles from Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers were the home team for this one.

As for those six Dodgers hits, two were by Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy, who also drove in two of those five Dodgers runs – one on a single to center in the bottom of the first inning, and the second on a double to right in the bottom of the third.

On the other side of the ball, 24-year-old Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller also had a good night. And even though the Elk Grove Village, IL native and fifth round draft pick in 2020 out of the University of Central Arkansas allowed those two South Korea runs and all five of their hits, he also struck out six while walking none in his 5.0 innings pitched.

Dodgers 25-year-old right-hander Gavin Stone had a very good night on the hill, allowing no runs or hits, with one walk and eight strikeouts in his 3.1 innings of relief.

And then there’s that CT-3 guy. Thirty-three-year old utility infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor slugged his first home run of the Spring, a pinch-hit 398-footer to right-center field, in the bottom of the seventh, to give the Dodgers their fifth and final run on the night.

But “All that glitters is not gold,” as they say. Thirty-one-year-old Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández struck out in all three of his official at-bat on the night. He did, however, draw a walk in the bottom of the eighth, so there’s that. Popular 26-year-old Dodgers outfielder James Outman struck out twice in his 0-for-4 very early Monday morning.
