Fans lucky enough to have tickets for the Dodgers Spring Training game against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday evening and/or against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday afternoon at Camelback Ranch will hear a familiar voice sound.
Popular Dodger Stadium organist Dieter Ruehle will be at the keys of the Camelback Ranch organ to provide the pregame music and National Anthem, and the between-inning entertainment.
As Dodgers fans know, Dieter has been the organist at Dodger Stadium since 2016 and for the LA Kings from 1989 through 1992, and from 1999 to present.
But what separates the Burbank High grad (Go Bulldogs!) from other stadium organists is his uncanny ability to interject clever – and appropriate – soundbites when something unusual happens down on the field during the games. And though those unable to attend the two Dieter Games at Camelback Ranch will miss out on his incredible pregame and between-inning music and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the seventh-inning stretch, if they listen closely during the television broadcasts, they should be able to hear his witty soundbites.
Friday’s game against the Guardians is scheduled to begin at 5:05 pm PT and Saturday’s game against the Cubs at 12:05 pm PT, with both being carried live on SportsNet LA and streamed on MLB.TV (subscription required).
Take Us Out to the Ballgame, Dieter!
Play Ball!
