Although his time with the Dodgers was ridiculously brief (like two games and four plate appearances), one-time Dodgers catcher Tony Wolters announced on his Instagram page on Sunday that he is retiring from the game after seven seasons to take on a bench coach role with the Colorado Rockies Arizona Complex League.
After being non-tendered by Colorado following the 2020 season, Wolters was picked up by the Pirates, Cubs, Dodgers, and Twins over the next three seasons, all on Minor League deals except for a Major League contract with Chicago in 2021. He appeared 14 MLB games with the Cubs and, as noted, two games with the Dodgers in 2022. He spent the entire 2023 season with the Twins Triple-A affiliate St. Paul Saints.
Wolters was initially signed as a Free Agent by the Dodgers on August 9, 2021, but was granted Free Agency on November 7, 2021. He was re-signed by the Dodgers as a Free Agent on August 23, 2022, but granted Free Agency again on November 10, 2022.
In his two games with the Major League Dodgers, Wolters went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts and leaves the game with a career slash line of .235/.321/.314/.635, with seven career home runs and 123 career RBIs.

looks like the Dodgers are adding James Paxton to the starting staff. Solid move.
