Whether you liked him or not, and let’s be honest here, most Dodgers fans did, 35-year-old former Dodgers right-handed reliever Joe Kelly will be back in Dodger Blue on Opening Day 2024 – if he passed his physical, that is.
During his combined four seasons with the Dodgers, the popular Anaheim, CA native and third round draft pick in 2009 by the St. Louis Cardinals out of UC Riverside posted a combined 8-4 record and a combined 3.42 ERA, with 140 strikeouts and only 50 walks over his combined 115.2 innings pitched out of the Dodgers bullpen.
Kelly further enhanced his popularity with Dodgers fans when, during the Dodgers World Series victory tour to the White House on July 2, 2021, he wore a black Mariachi jacket, earning him his now-famous nickname ‘Mariachi Joe.’
Welcome Back ‘Mariachi Joe!’

I am very Joe Kelly is back, due to his Koller instinct and the ability to throw strikes when need and his cold as ice, dominant to throw insidinside and not caring about the other tea.s team feelings…
Joe Kelly is just inconsistent. I actually like him because I like his attitude but I at crucial times he throws the ball in the dirt, lol usually 9 inningwith one or two out. I can’t say he doesn’t throw strikeouts, but not when we need them let alone wild pitches. He does have the batter fearing
Dodgers are still not going to win a world series this year 😒
Hooray, Love Joe Kelly he is awesome and he’s tough not like some of these other pitchers !He,s riight back where he belongs. Can’t wait to watch him pitch !
