There’s Hot, and there’s Hot.
…and then there’s Freddie Freeman Hot.
Freddie Freeman is Freddie Freeman Hot
In his last five games, the Villa Park, CA native and second round draft pick in 2007 by the Atlanta Braves out of El Modena High School in Orange, CA is 8-for-21 (.381), with one home run, one walk (intentional), two hit-by-pitches (possibly also intentional), and only three strikeouts.
That is Freddie Freeman Hot.
“I always say just try to put it in play, that’s all you can do. Good things happened today was a result of putting the ball in play,” Freeman told reporters, when asked about his current hot streak after going 3-for-5 in Tuesday’s 5-4 win over the NL West third place Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. “I’ve been seeing the ball really well. Just gonna ride this stretch as long as I can,”
Among Freeman’s three hits on Tuesday night was his MLB-leading 41st double of the season to drive in his 81st run of the season. He also scored his MLB-leading 100th run of the season on a sacrifice fly by Dodgers designated hitter Max Muncy in the top of the fifth inning.
Enjoy the ride, Freddie!
Play Ball!
