The American League West first place Texas Rangers will host the National League West first place Los Angeles Dodgers for a three game interleague series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas beginning on Friday evening, the result of which could have a significant impact in the standings for both teams.
Although a three-game sweep by either team is certainly possible, this seems a bit unlikely, with the Rangers having won seven of their last 10 games and the Dodgers eight.
As of this writing, the scheduled probable starters will be Dodgers right-hander Tony Gonsolin (5-3 / 3.72) vs. former Dodgers left-hander Andrew Heaney (6-6 / 4.43) on Friday, Dodgers rookie right-hander Bobby Miller (5-1 / 4.25) vs. Rangers right-hander Dane Dunning (8-2 / 2.82) on Saturday, and Dodgers rookie right-hander Emmet Sheehan (3-0 / 4.91) vs. Rangers left-hander Martín Pérez (7-3 / 4.84) for the series finale on Sunday.
Game times are 5:05 pm, 1:05 pm, and 11:35 am PDT respectively, and regardless of how this crucial three-game series ends, you can bet it will be exciting.
