It is finally here. The day that the baseball faithful have waited all year for. MLB Opening Day 2023.
In a season with at least 162 games, and maybe a few more if some teams are lucky, diehards get spoiled watching their beloved teams more days than not throughout the year.
After the final out in the Fall Classic gets recorded, fans will eventually settle in for the long winter.
Was this the last time they saw their favorite player don their team’s uniform? Who will leave for other teams in Free Agency? What big moves will be made in the offseason?
Some teams will stoke the fires in the Hot Stove, while others will have a quiet winter regrouping for potential trades later in the year.
Regardless of what each Front Office accomplished, Spring Training will be the first time fans can get a taste of the season to come; to really see how the new faces on the roster, as well as their favorite players, are shaping up. Or to even just revel in being around their baseball brethren again as sunny days return.
Thursday, March 30th, marks Opening Day for Major League Baseball’s 2023 season. Fans will be dusting off their jerseys and hats in preparation to make the pilgrimage to their favorite team’s respective stadiums.
Los Angeles should prepare to be awash in a sea of blue jerseys, hats, and other gear as the weekend kicks off early. Some will sport time-tested items at the ballpark. Others will have purchased new gear in preparation for the day many tried and true-blue fans treat as a hallowed holiday.
For those loyal to the Boys in Blue, the home-opener will be at Dodger Stadium for an evening game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
No matter how you celebrate the day – at home watching on television, out with other fans at sports bars, or at the stadium itself – it promises to be an electric day full of memories waiting to be made.
How could it not be when fans finally get to return to their baseball “Home Sweet Home”?
Here’s to another new season!
Happy Opening Day!
Let’s go Dodgers!
