You would think that after six All-Star Game appearances, five Gold Gloves, two World Series Championships, one MLB Player of the Year award, and one Wilson Overall Defensive Player of the Year Award, opposing baserunners would have learned that you do not run on Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts – ever.
You would think.
The Washington Nationals have a new learner.
In the top of the fifth inning of the Dodgers ugly 8-5 loss to the worst team in baseball on Tuesday night, Betts threw out Nationals center fielder Victor Robles at the plate after Robles had singled and stole second base off of Dodgers right-hander Mitch White and attempted to score on a single to right by Nationals first baseman Josh Bell … and it wasn’t even close.
Consider yourself learned, Victor.
