Late Tuesday afternoon, this appeared on Twitter:
If you are unfamiliar with the name Beau Burrows, you are certainly not alone. The 25-year-old Fort Worth, TX native and first-round draft pick in 2015 by the Detroit Tigers out of Weatherford High School in Weatherford, TX, has appeared in a total of 11 Major League games (one start) over the past two seasons – six with the Tigers and five with the Minnesota Twins, by whom he was selected off waivers on June 22, 2021. The 6′-2″/210-pound right-hander became a free agent at the conclusion of the 2021 season.
Burrows owns a combined 0-1 record and 10.70 ERA, with 11 strikeouts and 11 walks over 17.2 combined major league innings pitched, allowing eight home runs.
Although there has been no official word from the Dodgers on the Burrows signing yet, there is every reason to believe that he will receive an invitation to Major League camp when pitchers and catchers report to Camelback Ranch in late February. And though he does have one Major League start on his resume, it lasted only 2.0 innings and did not end well. As such, and barring a spectacular Spring Training camp, he will presumably be used in relief.
…but you just never know
Play Ball!

@Dodgers Cool! With all these “arms” LAD signing, they might be able to have a 9 inn – 5 pitcher gm scheduled!
Don’t shoot the messenger.
BTW – bullpen games (i.e., openers instead of starters) is now a thing – and not just for the Dodgers.
