During one of his pre or postgame Zoom media sessions several weeks ago, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was asked, as he often is, a question about 30-year-old utility infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor. And while the exact question and Roberts’ entire answer escape me right now, it included: “All Chris Taylor does is hit.”
Four days after his epic 14-pitch at-bat against the St. Louis Cardinals in the bottom of the sixth inning on Monday night at Dodger Stadium that ended with a bases-clearing double into right-center field and resulted in a 9-4 Dodgers win, all Chris Taylor did on Friday night at Truist Park in Atlanta against the Braves was hit – this time a bases-clearing double into the left field corner in the Dodgers eventual 9-5 win over the National League East second-place Braves.
“I think collectively everyone’s sort of coming together, Max (Muncy) and CT it seems like have carried us all year,” Roberts said after his team’s win on Friday night; a game in which the Dodgers had an eight-run fifth inning that lasted 43 minutes and 10 seconds and saw 14 batters come to the plate, including Chris Taylor twice. (He walked and scored in his first plate appearance of the inning and hit the aforementioned three-run double in his second).
Just keep hitting, Chris!

C.T. has simply been incredible.
Should be an all star. I hope we can resign him.
