Evaluating a pitcher after only 3.1 Major League Spring Training innings pitched is both risky and foolish.
…or is it?
On June 10, 2020, the Dodgers selected 21-year-old right-hander Bobby Miller in the first round of the 2020 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Louisville as the 29th overall pick. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Miller has yet to face even one minor league batter. He has, however, already faced 10 batters in the three Cactus League games in which he has appeared.
The 6′-5″ / 225-pound Elk Grove Village, IL native is in the Dodgers 2021 Spring Training camp as a non-roster invitee. He has not allowed a run or a hit to any of those 10 batters he has faced while striking out two of them. He did, however, walk a batter and hit another. That is the sum and total of the offense against him.
In all likelihood, Miller will be reassigned to minor league camp, perhaps as early as Tuesday morning. That being said, with what he has shown in his three Cactus League appearances and 3.1 innings in relief, you can bet that he will be on the fast-track back to the Bigs. He will, in all likelihood, begin his professional career either with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers or possibly even the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers.

@Dodgers My rotation for 2024, maybe even 2023 Buehler, Urias, May, Gonsolin, gray/Miller
Would be a little less expensive than Kershaw Bauer Price
I’m always looking to the farm for future Dodgers! Four of our five starters are home grown, something no other team’s rotations can claim. Is it a wonder ours is #1, after losing Ryu and Maeda, both of whom are now their new teams’ aces? I’m pulling for Bobby, and Jojo Gray and will be tracking them. I always look forward to the draft and wonder who our #1 will be this year?
