Seven-time Emmy Award winner Alanna Rizzo is back – not with the SportsNet LA, but with MLB Network’s High Heat with Christopher ‘Mad Dog’ Russo.
In January, Rizzo posted on Twitter that she was leaving the Dodgers and SportsNet LA to put her personal life above her professional life.
There was an immediate outpouring of love and support for Rizzo from her many fans and friends following her social media announcement.
As Dodger fans know, Rizzo also taught scorekeeping classes and was involved in several other community events. She is also the founder and CEO of Guidry’s Guardian Foundation, an online charity to raise awareness of, rescue, and find new homes for abandoned and abused dogs.
Beginning Friday, April 2, Rizzo will be a regular contributor on High Heat, which MLB Network President Rob McGlarry is very excited about.
“We’re excited to welcome Alanna back to our team following her impactful work with SportsNet LA,” McGlarry said. “Having just stepped off the field as a reporter, Alanna’s fresh perspective, insights, and knowledge of the game will be a welcomed addition to MLB Network’s comprehensive coverage.”
Rizzo is no stranger to MLB Network. She worked at ‘The Network’ (as it is often called) from 2012 to 2013 and is also excited to return.
“I am incredibly excited to reunite with my MLB Network colleagues,” said Rizzo.“To be able to continue to cover the sport I love with the network that covers it better than anyone is a privilege. I cannot wait to team up with Chris Russo on High Heat.
We look forward to seeing Alanna in her new gig, and wish her nothing but the very best.
Welcome back, Rizz!

Good to hear.
From the Dodgers penthouse to High Heat basement (not a fan of Russo). Alanna will add class to the program. Nothing but the best wishes for Alanna — really miss her every time I watch the Dodgers.
It’s sad to see that Alanna is leaving SNLA but it will be good to see her Monday-Friday on “High Heat” with Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo.
