Hello, I’m Edith Noriega. I was born in Artesia, CA, and raised in Perris, CA. One of my first memories growing up was making the drive with my family in our Big Bertha van to Chavez Ravine four hours prior to first pitch – that’s LA traffic in a nutshell.
When my older brothers brought me to my first Dodgers game on May 30, 2005 (yes, I kept the ticket stub) at just 14 years old, it felt almost like a rite of passage, and next thing I knew, I dreamed of playing baseball on that very field.
Although my chances of playing baseball were slim to none, I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports journalism from Arizona State University, and previously in 2016, I obtained an associate’s degree in journalism from Riverside City College.
I am very grateful to be a part of ThinkBlue LA and can’t wait to get to work.

Welcome aboard, Edith!
Hi Edith,
I was raised in Dairy Valley (now Cerritos) and developed my love for baseball at Artesia Park. I attended Richard Gahr High School. My parents moved from Dairy Valley to Perris in 1968. I attended my final semester of high school there. My wife was born and raised in Perris and we still live in the area. My office is in Menifee. I do not comment on this blog often, but I do read it every day. I love the Perris/Artesia connection. Welcome aboard.
Thank you for your support, Rob. LOVE the So. Cal connection!
Please do not be a stranger around these parts. You are among friends here.
Wow! Dairy Valley — not many of us still around who remember that name. My parents and I lived in Torrance and would drive to OC via Artesia Blvd. before the 405 freeway.
Hi Rob,
It’s a pleasure to meet someone from the Inland Empire/Artesia area, there’s not a lot of us.
Welcome! Look forward to reading your articles. Go Dodgers!
Appreciate the warm welcome, Jesse.
Welcome from Las Vegas.
Thanks Linda!
Cheers from Montana! Hope there’s lots of baseball to write about, and that everyone stays safe.
