by Ron Cervenka The Dodgers are reporting that retired Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully has been released from the hospital and is resting comfortably at home.
The beloved 92-year-old GOAT (Greatest of All Time) suffered a fall at his home earlier in the week and was rushed to nearby Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, CA by paramedics. He remained hospitalized for several days under observation until his release (presumably) on Saturday morning.
“My sincerest thanks to the L.A. County Firemen and women who come to the rescue and always seem to be there when we need, and to the excellent administration, doctors, and nurses of Los Robles Hospital,” Scully said in a statement posted on Twitter by the Dodgers on Saturday afternoon. “I am so eternally grateful for their help and selfless service.
“I’m home resting comfortably with my wife and we are both eagerly awaiting the ‘Time for Dodger Baseball,'” he added.

As every Dodger – and baseball – fan on the planet knows, Scully retired at the conclusion of the 2016 season, having been the voice of the Dodgers for a remarkable 67 years. He achieved baseball immortality when he was awarded the Ford C. Frick Award at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY in 1982. He also received the Commissioner’s Historic Achievement Award in 2014, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

So like Vin to be more concerned with thanking and complimenting those who helped him than how he feels himself.
I’m so thankful for all the years I could listen to him broadcasting Dodgers games, both radio and television.
It’s good to read that Vin is doing well and is back home and and is in in fine health otherwise.
