by Ron Cervenka As the entire baseball world awaits the findings and (presumed) disciplinary action against the Houston Astros over the 2017 World Series sign-stealing scandal, the Dodgers hot stove remained ice-cold through the first month of the 2019-2020 offseason.
Oh sure, you can argue that adding top prospects DJ Peters, Mitchell White, and Zach McKinstry to their 40-man roster just ahead of Wednesday’s Rule-5 draft protection deadline is something. But rumors of the Dodgers pursuing top free-agent right-hander Gerrit Cole and/or top free-agent third baseman Anthony Rendon remains exactly that … rumors.
Then again, the Dodgers have yet to even offer a contract extension to their president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, or at least officially announce it; although according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, it’s a done deal:
All of this said, many (most) offseason trades and transactions usually don’t happen until the annual winter meetings, this year in San Diego, CA December 9-12. And while the expectation is that the Dodgers will be relatively quiet this offseason, these are the Dodgers we’re talking about here.

I do hope they sign Hyun-Jin Ryu.
He would be my first choice as well.

There is mutual interest, he won’t break the bank, he won’t cost a draft pick and he keeps getting better. Book it Danno.
Next sign Hill to a one-year incentive laden contract. He’ll either be able to pitch or he will be on the disabled list and he’s good when he can pitch.
Hill is also worth his weight in gold as a valuable resource and mentor for a pitching staff with a boatload of youngsters. He is also a GREAT guy.
